2nd Annual ASTAR Charity Golf
Tournament
“Connecting the Links”
Friday, May 15th at Trilogy Golf Club in Redmond
Shotgun start: 1:30 p.m.
Back by popular demand, ASTAR will be holding our 2nd Annual Charity
Golf Tournament. Hoping for a repeat of last years blue skies, the day
will be loaded with boxed lunch, drinks, contests, prizes, dinner/awards
banquet and undoubtedly some pretty bad golfers!
Registration begins at 11 am, with boxed burrito lunch compliments of
Taco Del Mar. Shotgun start is at 1:30, with drinks, contests, and other
activities along the way. Make sure to stick around after golf for an
exciting (and delicious) dinner and awards banquet, with steaks and
salmon grilled fresh compliments of South Lake Grill.

supporting ASTAR in their efforts to treat NW families affected by autism!
Half of the pot goes to ASTAR, other half is split as follows:
1st Place- 50%
2nd Place- 30%
3rd Place- 20%

4th Annual ASTAR Dinner & Auction
A huge thank you goes out to all of you
who played a role in the success of Where the Sidewalk Ends Dinner
and Auction!
Through an overwhelming amount of sponsorships, donations and attendees,
ASTAR was able to surpass our fundraising goal and raise $260,000 to
allow the vast expansion of services for Northwest families affected
by autism spectrum disorders.
ASTAR is thankful and proud to announce that during the Raise the Paddle
portion of the evening, through cash donations ranging from $50 to $5,000,
we were collectively able to raise $96,200!!! This is a remarkable amount
and wholly portrays the wide and strong support base that ASTAR has.
Again, thanks to the generosity of donors and attendees alike, we will
be able to reach out further in the community to ensure that any Northwest
family affected by autism will be served, without prejudice to age,
degree of severity, or ability to pay.
Thank you to everyone who made this evening possible. We couldn't have
done it without your support.

PAST EVENTS

1st Annual Golf Tournament
We wished for a sunny day, and our wish was granted! We had a full field
of 144 players at our “Connecting the Links” Golf Tournament, which
was held at Trilogy Golf Club in Redmond. Baseball legends (and damn
fine golfers), Bill Kreuger, and Dave “Hendu” Henderson participated
in the event, which helped raise much needed funds towards autism treatment
and research.
Not only did the guys (and some ladies) have a great day playing 18
holes of golf, they also got to participate in contests and raffles,
won some fantastic prizes, and enjoyed some great food. Taco Del Mar
(www.tacodelmar.com) set up a “Burrito Bar” and provided all players
with fresh, hot, burritos, chips and dips. Southlake Grill (www.southlakegrill.com)
grilled up juicy steak and tender salmon for the dinner and awards banquet.
A special thank you to our title sponsor, Nelson Langer Nelson, our
hole sponsors, and the players for making the day a success. Your support
of Northwest families living with autism spectrum disorder is greatly
appreciated! We can’t wait to see everyone next year!

Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament
Friends of ASTAR gathered at the Taco Del Mar headquarters in Seattle
for a night of classic Texas Hold 'Em!!!
The evening included poker, dice, full service dinner (hot dogs &
pizza!), soft drinks, hard drinks, and too many cigars! The three
top winners split the pot with ASTAR, heading home with bragging rights
and bulging wallets!
Everyone had a great time for a great cause, and due to the overall
success of the event and upon the requests of the players, a 2nd Poker
Tournament is in the planning stages for July. Exact date to be announced.
A special thanks to Joel Rosenberger for hosting, James Schmidt for
providing the venue and cigars, Southlake Bar and Grill for the beer,
and Mad Pizza for great eats!
